One of the most effective ways to advocate about a societal issue is the use of social media. A wider audience can be accessed and can be urged to fight against gender discrimination. Follow, like, and share any content that supports ending of gender discrimination. It is important to educate everyone, especially the young ones who are fond of social media. It is a good action to enlighten young individuals about gender discrimination at a young age. Educating each and everyone is the major step in achieving the end of discrimination against women and girls.

The United Nation explains that the SDG 5 targets “to provide women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes that will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large." Gender discrimination must be given attention by the government. Put pressure or urge the government to take actions upon this continuous societal issue. Propose activities that voices out gender discrimination. Do not be afraid to address the leaders or government about several issues regarding gender discrimination. Furthermore, encourage the women to lead various of organization and be involved in politics as an action towards ending gender discrimination. Women should be given access to plenty of fields or aspects in the country.

Gender equality from the word “equality” will only be possible if discrimination comes to an end. Discrimination is almost present in every field. In the field of work, many women are not given the opportunity to grow in their career. Furthermore, women are not given equal pay. In addition, women are often ostracized simply because of being a woman. Women are often taken for granted. Additionally, women are being mostly underestimated. Therefore, it is important to give equal opportunities towards women. An opportunity for them to showcase their skills, talents, intelligence and capabilities. Women are very much capable of contributing to the betterment of the society.

The so-called period stigma must come to an end. According to UNICEF, menstruation is a healthy and natural part of the reproductive cycle, yet many women and girls are experiencing period stigma. The possible reason behind this is the lack of basic knowledge and misinformation. UNICEF believes that changing social norms and behaviors and the access to knowledge and information is the way of ending period stigma. Therefore, it is important to urge the leaders to educate the community about societal issues regarding the continuous gender discrimination.

Gender equality should be practiced starting in our homes. Everyone in the household should take responsibility for all chores and works to be done. There should be no exceptions, therefore equal division of works shall be observed. In addition, advocate baby-changing or baby needs facilities in all public bathrooms. Persuade the government and companies to offer adequate maternity and paternity leave.

Gender equality should be practiced in our community. Whenever someone is talking inappropriate things about women, belittling women, and other forms of hurting a woman, do not keep silent. It is ideal to speak up and stand for those kinds of people. Furthermore, show support and courage to every woman. Remember to practice respecting each and everyone. It is important to accept each one's differences and distinct characteristics. Women do not deserve to be discriminated against for being a woman, instead they should be respected, empowered, and be treated equally.

The Idiyanale Empowerment Movement urges everyone, together with us, to walk the talk of the said ways in achieving the end of discrimination. Action is a must to fight against the said societal issue.
