Violence against women and girls is a form of gender-based violence that is a prevalent and alarming issue that leads to physical, sexual, or psychological harm and abuses, this can be through coercion, acts, and deprivation of liberty.

Women can struggle from these abuses whether privately or publicly, which impact and violate their rights and freedom. When the pandemic started in the year 2020, the reported cases of violence among women surges to 25% as stated by the United Nations. Unfortunately, most women who experience violence are victimized by their own intimate partners. These cruelties negatively affect women’s general well-being, obstructing them from fully participating in society, which greatly impacts their families, community, and the country at large. Moreover, even with numerous laws and legislations implemented to prevent and eradicate these acts, it still remains a challenge to women because of the limited access to safety and justice.
